How Much Does a Custom Kitchen Cost in Montréal? Real 2026 Prices
The short answer. A custom kitchen in Montréal runs from about $15,000 to $60,000 and up, and the single biggest reason for that spread is size. Most of the kitchens we completed in 2025 landed between $12,000 and $35,000. A galley kitchen in a condo and an open-plan kitchen with a full island are not the same project, and no honest single number covers both.
Below is what we actually charge, priced in the units we quote in, along with the things that move your number up and down. Updated August 2026.
What actually drives the price
In our shop, in this order:
- The door material. This is the biggest lever by a wide margin. The same kitchen layout in two different door materials can differ by thousands.
- Hinges and slides. The hardware you touch fifty times a day. It is also the part people are most surprised to learn is a real line item.
- Installation. Expert installers cost more, and this is not a place to save. A perfect cabinet installed badly is a badly installed kitchen.

Cabinets are priced per linear foot because that is how cabinetry is actually built and quoted. Countertops are priced per square foot installed, which means fabrication, cutouts, edges and installation are already in the number. One thing almost everyone forgets to budget for is appliance installation. We do that ourselves, so you do not need to find and pay a separate person for it. The appliances are yours to buy; getting them in and working is ours.
How to spend less without regretting it
If your existing cabinet boxes are sound, refacing is the cheapest sensible way to lower the price. You keep the structure and replace the doors, hinges and slides, which is where most of the visible quality lives anyway. The saving we would talk you out of: changing only the handles. It is the upgrade that most often disappoints, because it changes the one thing nobody was looking at while leaving the doors, hinges and slides exactly as tired as they were.
How long it takes
- Design stage: five days maximum
- Deposit to installed kitchen: three to four weeks
- Countertop: no gap. It goes in with the cabinet finishing stage, not a week later
- Your quote stays valid: one month
What our price actually means
This is the part worth reading twice, because it is the part that is hardest to compare between shops.
Our first price after the final plan is the final price. Other places give you a number, take the deposit, and then the extras start. We do not work that way. Once the plan is final and we have given you the estimate, there are no additional charges unless something changes on your side.
The deposit is 50 percent. The warranty is ten years on polymer doors plus one year of maintenance. We are a medium to high quality shop and we would rather say that plainly than compete with the cheapest quote in the city.

Three to four weeks, with the design stage taking up to five days before that. The countertop is installed during the cabinet finishing stage, so there is no waiting period in between.
Will the final invoice match the estimate?
Yes, unless you change something. Our first price after the final plan is the final price, and that is a commitment rather than a sales line.
