A full kitchen, drawn and built from nothing. Most of what we do starts here, and about a third of the work in a year is one of the smaller services on this page instead.

What we do

Eight services, one workshop

Everything on this page is made in the same place, at 4130 Boulevard Thimens in Saint-Laurent, by the same people who come to measure and who come back to install. There is no importer in the middle and no subcontracted crew, which is the reason a panel that comes out a millimetre wide can be recut and returned the same day instead of in three weeks.

The eight services below are not eight departments. They are the ways a project usually arrives. Some clients need a kitchen designed and built from nothing. Some have boxes that are perfectly sound and only need new fronts. Some want the stone changed and nothing else. A good number ask for two or three at once, and the price is better when they are cut in the same batch than when they arrive as separate orders a year apart.

What every project includes

A free measure at your home or your premises. Elevations drawn in AutoCAD, which you approve before anything is cut. A written, itemised price that is fixed against those drawings rather than against a hopeful estimate. Fabrication in our own shop. Installation by our own crew. And ten years of warranty on the doors we make, with the manufacturer coverage kept on the hardware.

How a project runs

  • You call or send photographs. We tell you honestly whether the smaller service would do the job.
  • We measure on site, free, usually within the week.
  • You get drawings and a written price, and nothing is ordered until you say so.
  • Three to five weeks in the shop, less for refacing and refinishing.
  • One to three days on site, and we take the old kitchen away.

Bathroom vanities are the second most common order after kitchens, and they cost far less when they are cut in the same batch as one.

Questions

What people ask before they call

Do you build everything yourselves?

Yes. The measure, the AutoCAD drawings, the cutting, edging, spraying and assembly, and the installation are all Limakdéco, out of one workshop at 4130 Boulevard Thimens in Saint-Laurent. Nothing is imported flat packed and nothing is handed to a third party installation crew.

Which service do I actually need?

Open a cupboard door and look at the box. If the boxes are sound and square and the layout works, refacing will change the room for roughly a third of the price. If the layout is the problem, or the boxes are failing, or you want drawers where there are doors, you want new cabinetry. If the doors are solid wood and you only dislike the colour, refinishing is the cheapest honest answer. We tell you which at the measure, and we do not push the bigger job.

How much does a kitchen cost?

It is priced by what is in it: the linear feet of cabinetry, the box and front materials, how many drawers replace low doors, how much of the appliance run is panelled, and the stone. There is no useful average, which is why we measure and draw before quoting rather than after. Both of those steps are free and neither commits you to anything.

How long does it take?

Three to five weeks in the workshop for a full kitchen, less for refacing and refinishing, then one to three days on site. Countertops are templated after the cabinets are set and follow about a week later. Commercial work is scheduled backwards from your opening date.

Do you do the countertops as well?

Yes, and it is easier when the same company does both. We template on the installed cabinets rather than from the drawing, which is the difference between a joint you notice and one you do not. Quartz, quartzite, Dekton and porcelain, all on the countertops page.

Can you match a kitchen to other rooms in the house?

Regularly, and it is worth asking at the start. A mudroom bench, a laundry run, a study wall or a bookcase cut in the same batch as the kitchen costs far less than the same work ordered separately a year later, and the colour actually matches.

Do you work with contractors and designers?

Often. We can work from your designer's plan or produce the elevations ourselves, and we are used to sequencing around electricians, plumbers and floor layers. If a wall is coming out, that is a contractor's or an engineer's call rather than ours, and we say so rather than guess.
