One team, one schedule
A complete kitchen renovation is everything that happens between the old kitchen and the new one: demolition, the work inside the walls, the floor, then the cabinetry, the countertop, the backsplash and the connections. Most homeowners run it with four or five contractors who never speak to each other. At Limakdéco one team holds the drawing, the orders and the order of the trades, from the first measure to the final walkthrough.
What our own crew does is simple to state. We take the old kitchen out and away. We lay the floor, the backsplash and the tile. The cabinets leave our workshop in Saint-Laurent and are installed by the people who built them, and the countertop is templated off the boxes once they are standing. Plumbing and electrical go to licensed master trades we work with: we book them, give them the drawings and bring them in at the right moment, but their licence signs their work.
The order is not negotiable, because every step depends on the one before it. The floor goes in before the cabinetry, so the toe kicks and the island are scribed to the finished level rather than to the subfloor. The sink and the appliances are connected on the day the stone lands, not the day the boxes arrive. And the company coordinating all of it carries RBQ licence 5825-8039-01.
How a project runs
- A showroom visit and a measure at your home, both free.
- Design in five working days at most: AutoCAD drawings and a 3D view, included in the quote.
- A written price for the cabinetry and the countertop, with the other lines (demolition, flooring, trades) priced in writing in the same quote.
- A 50 percent deposit starts production. Cabinet fabrication typically takes three to four weeks; the complete renovation schedule depends on the agreed scope.
- Demolition, the plumbing and electrical work inside the walls, then the floor.
- Cabinets installed in one to three days, the countertop templated and fitted with the finishing stage, backsplash and connections.
- A final walkthrough with you: deficiencies are written down and closed on one return visit.
What a complete kitchen renovation costs in Montréal in 2026
Cabinetry and countertops alone: approximately $15,000 to $60,000 and up, depending on size, materials and the type of work. To plan the total renovation budget, add demolition, flooring, plumbing and electrical, which are assessed on site and itemised in writing in the same quote. The figures below are approximate planning ranges.
- Custom cabinets: $550 to $850 per linear foot.
- Quartz countertop: $55 to $85 per sq ft, installed.
- Quartzite and natural stone: $75 to $130 per sq ft, installed.
- Dekton and porcelain: $75 to $95 per sq ft, installed.
- Design, AutoCAD and 3D plans: included, a $500 to $1,500 value.
Our first price after the final plan is the final price: it only changes if you add something yourself along the way. The appliances themselves and any permits stay separate. Every line is explained in our guide to what a custom kitchen costs in Montréal.
Refacing, refinishing or a new kitchen: how to decide
Not everyone needs a complete renovation, and we say so at the visit. If the boxes are sound and the layout still works, kitchen cabinet refacing replaces the doors, hinges and slides for $2,000 to $9,000. If the doors are solid wood and in good shape, stripping and refinishing gives them a new surface. A complete renovation becomes the right answer when the layout no longer works, when the boxes have taken water, or when the floor, the plumbing or the electrical have to be redone anyway.
One project from start to finish: Pierrefonds, 2026
The first call was small: replace an island top. The new black quartz, veined in white, made the rest of the room look ten years older, and the owners decided to finish the thought. We drew an L shaped kitchen with a seven foot island, high gloss white slab fronts with no handles, the same quartz on every counter and full height behind the sink, and a counter depth refrigerator that sits flush with the run. The floor was replaced with engineered hardwood before the cabinetry went in, and the kitchen was handed back three weeks after the design was signed, in February 2026. The full story and the photographs are on the Pierrefonds project page.
